DAILY SPIRITUAL FOOD; THE MINISTRY OF BIBLICAL PREACHING AND THE URGENCY OF THE TIMES. TEXT; Preach the word .Be ready in season and out of season. Convince,rebuke,exhort,with all longsuffering and teaching. 2 Timothy 4;2 commentary; 2 Timothy 4;1-8 The Greek,root word for preaching ,euanggelizw (preach the Gospel),means to publish,proclaim,announce, to advertise or to declare in public,with the sole aim of pointing out to the sinners(people)their sins and the urgent need to truly turn to repentance towards a merciful and forgiving God ,who is willing ,more than ever before,to impute his righteousness and Holiness. The central theme (object) of a sound Biblical preaching is Jesus Christ and His message of Salvation . For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ,for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes,for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith ;as it is written,The just shall live by faith. Romans 1;16-17 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven,that is the son of man who is in heaven.And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,even so must the son of man be lifted up,that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son,that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.John 3;13-17 The Hebrew root word Qara, for preaching, translated,means to call out, cry to,pronounce or to invite. Against the backdrop of aforementioned discovery,therefore,it is pertinent to stress that Biblical preaching means to invite sinners to the glorious kingdom of a loving God,with its attendant blessings and glory. It involves heralding/proclaiming of the great divine truths/message of Gods kingdom.The Hebrew root word Qara, for preaching actually suggests announcing a prophetic (divine)truth/message in the form of a profound declaration which,in turn,involves calling out loudly to a group/set of people (normally wrong doers) so as to make true contact with sinners and thus win, and switch their full attention to God. True ,sound Biblical preaching must,of necessity, attract a genuine /well defined response from the recipients(sinners/congregation) .Is your preaching actually connecting with, and making the genuine contacts with sinners,Gods message of salvation is intended for? Is it impacting positively on lost and direction-less sinners as well as strengthening the heaven bound Christian believers? Or is causing divisions or tearing the house of God on earth-the Church-apart? Brethren, sound biblical preaching should be able to turn SINNERS TO SAINTS. If not that preaching is not good for purpose. A well directed preaching needs a divinely inspired preacher,whose central aim is to turn the sinners /congregation to true repentance towards a loving and merciful God,for salvation and eternal life, as well as, physical blessings. Jesus strongly admonished the religious order of his days,the scribes and Pharisees,about their mode/methodology of preaching or declaring the prophetic truths of Gods message of salvation to lost sinners. Their teachings hardened the hearts of the people and pointed them to hell instead of heaven. Woe to you,scribes and Pharisees,hypocrites;For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte,and when he is won,you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.Matthew 23;15 Friends,there is urgent need for the restoration of the teaching and preaching ministry of the church of the living God,for the rebuilding /reconstruction of the fallen apostolic Christian doctrines/foundations.This will undoubtedly turn people to true repentance towards God and thus help depopulate the massive population headed to hell and populate that of heaven. God is raising his end-time fire-brand preachers(Army) to raise up the fallen apostolic foundations (Doctrines) of the church that is in a near state of spiritual comatose. Will you make yourself available and ready? On that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David,which has fallen down,And repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins,and rebuild it as in the days of old. Amos 9;11 THE BIBLICAL COMMAND /EXHORTATION TO PREACH; Brethren, God has commanded us to preach the message of the cross that truly calls the world of sin to repent and come back to His salvation and glory. John the baptist,Jesus and the apostles and disciples of the first apostolic era all preached Gods divine message and saved so many souls headed to hell. They have,without doubt ,handed over this baton of divine responsibility to us to continue. Are we wiling and ready to finish what they had started? Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit.Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you and ,lo,I am with you always,even to the end of the age.Amen.Matthew 28;29-20 Preach the word;Be ready in season and out of season,convince,rebuke,exhort,with all longsuffering and teaching.2 Timothy 4;2 SCRIPTURAL SEARCH; Matthew 24;12-14,23;Psalm 68;11;Romans 10;13-15;Isaiah 52;6-8 THE URGENT REASONS(NEEDS)FOR PREACHING; The following reasons informs why God wants /commands us to preach effectively to his people in the church and the sinners in the world. 1.Gross (uncontrollable) sins /darkness ,both in the church and in the world.God loves humanity ,especially the lost and hopeless sinners.He wants to save and bring them to his kingdom ,through the effective preaching of His gospel of salvation. SCRIPTURAL SEARCH; Matthew 24;4-14;1 Timothy 5;20;Romans 1;16;1 Timothy 4;13-16;Isaiah 60;1-4 2.DISTORTION OF BIBLICAL TRUTHS/DECEPTIONS AND CONFUSIONS. God wants us ,the church, to preach the gospel of salvation so as to check the dangerous falsehood,deceptions and confusions enveloping his church, in particular, and the world in general. This end-time ,like Jesus predicted in the the twenty fourth chapter of the Gospel according to Matthew,there would be the emergence of false teachers ,preachers and prophets with sinful congregations having itchy ears;They would dictate and shape the messages they want to hear and obey. God wants this stopped and corrected through effective preaching and teaching by Holy Spirit inspired preachers. SCRIPTURAL SEARCH; 2 Timothy 4;3-5;2 Timothy 3;5-10,13;2 peter 3;1-18 3.TO MAKE AND MATURE DISCIPLES FOR GODS KINGDOM SPIRITUALLY. SCRIPTURAL SEARCH; 2 Peter 2;1-2;2 Timothy 3;14-17 Brethren,God wants the church to preach and propagate the message of the gospel of his kingdom.This is even more urgent and needful as we await the soon second coming of our Lord,saviour and master Jesus Christ , who is coming to take his saints home.
