DAILY WALK July 26, 2013 NO OTHER HOPE …BUT TO RUN TO HIM It is often difficult to keep our eyes off the troubles and evil of this world. I believe that the Lord would have us look to Him rather than concentrate on what is wrong in the world. Michael Bolda Jr. of Hand of Help Ministries writes: “No matter what may come upon this land, we know that God abides with His faithful, keeping them, guiding them, and protecting them. Events will begin to unfold upon this earth, that will make even the mightiest of men tremble in fear, but knowing that we have a shelter from the storm, a sovereign God who watches over us, fearlessly we press on faithful in all that He asks of us.” Jesus alone is our shelter in this storm, which has already started, and it will be awful for those who have rejected Christ. It is not because of any anger of God. The truth is that spiritual darkness will keep people from the shelter of Christ. Instead of looking out at the darkness, we should be looking up to the Light and filling our minds with His Word. For example: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6 NIV Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2 NIV And one of my favorite scripture for when danger looms: A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
