DAY 237 - THE SCIENCE OF CHRIST -------------------------------------------- There are some people who hate the Bible and who really despise it. You say, “let me go and see what that guy has to say today.” Should you be one of the scorners and scoffers who show contempt for the word fo God - may you know that your laughs will not alter the Truth of God. Your jests, jokes and mockeries about the Word of God will not change your inevitable doom. Eternal truths are mightier than your smart utterances. Nothing you do or say can alter the Divine Truth of a single word of this Book. Having said that, there remains hope even for a scorner such as yourself - hope in the Saviour’s veins, hope in the Father’s mercy and hope in the Holy Spirit’s Omnipotent agency. Philosophers and scientists think there are many useful books far more interesting than the Bible. Well, they are very much obliged to themselves for their opinion. Theirs is a science of dissecting beetles and arranging butterflies. May be a science of arranging stones and telling us of the strata of the earth. They insist that all science is better than the Bible. They say such things because they are far away from God. The science of Jesus Christ is the most excellent of all sciences. Don’t turn away from the Bible because you think it is not the book for learning and wisdom. It is! Astronomy is here - for we read of the Sun of Righteousness and the Bright Morning Star. If you are into botany, it is here - for we read of the Lily of the valley and the Rose of Sharon. Talk about geology and mineralogy, you may read of the Rock of Ages. I plead with you to respect your Bibles, read them, study them and search them out - for in them there is eternal life.
