DEAR DIARY: I so hope this posts. It is a very long read. You dont have to read it all....but for the few mishaps we had, there were a gazillion blessings! Its all blessings and there are many! It takes about ten minutes for the cursor to show up on this system and only shows me what I type after I hit post. So here goes: YOU KNOW HOW THEY SAY TO COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS? I think I just shared 4 back-to-back mishaps in our family and want to take a minute to share the blessings: 1. GOD: THANK YOU, because walking this walk WITH YOU brings a sense of peace and trust to whatever the situation may be. Our situations were all over the board and in close proximity of the next one to happen. We did find grace and peace and trust and even some funny one-liners while we are putting things back together. 2. Ron Flynn.....hubby, daddy and main provider for our family not only maintains his business, his clients, but is (and has) taken every spare minute and muscle and labor (with 3 broken ribs) to take on the repairs around here.....never once complaining or whining......just (as he says) getting her done! We lost the food in the freezer...he cleaned it out and restocked ( he cleaned it without my knowledge that we had lost it....didnt want me to worry). My computer fried...he bought a new hard drive, installed it correctly and diligently and after several force reboots did not work. Although it did not work and we had to ship it to my only mac guru I will ever use Darryl Lewis (another blessing to get to!). Ron goes out Saturday and buys new car battery and installs. My go-cart is vroom vrooming again! Ron then single-handedly replaced one of the flooded floors today (cutting, sawing, lifting with 3 broken ribs) so that we could at least get the laundry room functioning and get the dryer and racks of clothes out of the foyer! (I think the EMTS that showed up 4 a.m. Friday morning either thought we were professional horders (which my heart goes out to) or we moved our garage sale in our hallway! :) And tonight, ribs hurting exhausted from repairs that were not so kind to his ribs, he wanted to coowk us dinner. NOW WAY! MY BAD HERE.....I put my hands around his waist to spin him around to direct him toward shower and relax and I grabbed his ribs while doing so, so that I could cook dinner. OUCH! I LOVE YOU HONEY! THANK YOU FOR YOU! 3. Brent.......my son endured a 4a.m. 911 call ....could not get air....could not breathe. Blessings here: Firstly......he breathed! Second......looks like it was a bronchial clog in his right lung, treatable with antibiotics. Third: he was able to help his dad in the roadie crew that helps the marching band (although he could not play his instrument or participate, he could help his father!) He was comforting and soothing to me when the car died while we were picking up his medicine and even suggested we sit in Wendys to cool off and wait for dad. He was able to help daddy with some of the heavy lifting for the repairs we did today and they laughed so much together doing it! Music to my ears....when they laugh together...Father and son! Nothing like the sound of air in a laugh breath!!!
