DID YOU KNOW? The second President of the Turks and Caicos Islands, William Robert Inglis (1854-62) was not well accepted in the Islands, especially because of this affiliation with the Separation Agreement with the Bahamas. He also made and changed laws to suit his need. Colonial Secretary, John Arthur, stated that the President actions was prejudicial and his apathy had reduced the social, moral and the intellectual climate to its lowest level in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
