DISOBEDIENT DEFENDERS Ezekiel 13:5, Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD. Permit me please, to give you my transliteration of this verse: Ye have not gone up (to take rank, position yourself, and fill your spot/place) into the gaps (breaches, holes), neither made up the hedge (have not built up, have neglected to fortify, refused to support, been tardy to strengthen the wall of defense for your nation/country, and have been absent) to stand in the battle (be in the fight/contend for the faith) in the day of the LORD YAHWEH. This is outright dereliction of duty and amounts to downright desertion of soldiers who have sworn to be faithful in the fight and be in the battle when confronted by the enemy. This type of action is worthy of the death penalty as it equals treason. It warrants a dishonorable discharge and a dismissal from duty. The apostle Paul told the young preacher Timothy, Thou therefore endure hardness (hardship), as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. (2 Tim. 2:3) What kind of soldier have you been for the Lord Jesus Christ the Captain of your salvation? He is the LORD of hosts meaning the High Commander of Forces, the Leader of troops, and the Chief of armies. Have you faithfully maintained your position on the front-lines of the universal conflict? Have you consistently held rank? Lets all examine our service to the King of kings and Lord of lords. Lets acknowledge, confess, apologize, and repent of our apathy, tardiness, slackness, dereliction of duty, and desertion of defender responsibilities to our High Commander-in-Chief, the Lord Jesus Christ. Heres the comforting good news: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9). RESPOND, REPENT, AND RETURN TO BATTLE!!
