DOES ANYTHING REALLY MEAN ANYTHING? If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. John 14:14 I read the above verse, and my humanism screams at me, Whoa. Then I read the verse, Ye have not because ye ask not. James 4:2. And it blows my mind. My problem is that I tend to rationalize. And that rationalization usually puts a limitation on God. Why would I do that? Then I open the Bible and read again,If ye (me) being evil, know how to give good things unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in Heaven give good things to them that ask Him.? Matt. 7:11 We must remember that everything, all - ALL belongs to God. And anything and all things He chooses to give does not diminish him nor decrease His imitless gifts. Now that is looking at life from His point of view. And He is looking at us from His perspective when He says, Ask anything. There are mountains of blessings issuing from the Lord to His people. How about that next breath of air? That breath has life-giving elements designed to keep us healthy. Okay God, please give me a thousand dollars. No, make that a million dollars. But I wont ask Him for a thousand nor a million because I dont need it.. Would He give it to me if I needed it? He can. So, Ill keep on my unweary way to His Place, knowing He is taking care of all my needs. One day I will look into His generaous face and say, Thank You. My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. Isaiah 55:8. God has His own checks and balances. Some we know about - and others we dont need to know about. prayer, O Father, I pray that Your will, and not mine, be done.
