DOXIE PEEPS: My friend, Betsy Denton Laureano, asked me to post this for her to see if any of you can offer some feedback: Anyone else have a doxie with problems with what appears to be a hemorrhoid when they defecate? My little mini has tissue protrude when she strains to poop but then it retreats after a little while. I took her to the vet (new one) and he said its not a hemorrhoid and they are rare in dogs. He said its more like a fold of tissue that can get pushed out when anal glands are full. So, he expressed her anal glands and did a full rectal exam and there was nothing. He said it should slowly go away but wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem or if I should look out for anything else.
