DPM was recently invited to spent 4 weeks in Maningrida, NT on three separate projects in partnership with an amazing local initiative called The Wíwa Project - a multimedia/ music/ arts hub run by some incredible, committed and switched on community members. Weve also been working with Maningrida College, Protect Arnhem Land, the Djelk Indigenous Ranger program, Luka Lesson, Roc West, Valentina Brave, Victor Rostron, Joseph Diddo, The KK Boys and other local artists, poets and songwriters on a series of amazing projects from songwriting to spoken word and documentary pieces!! During the process we formed The Lurra Collective.This video is the first release from the Desert Pea Media / Wiwa Project partnership, with two more tracks and music videos coming very soon, not to mention a short PAL promotion piece, an amazing spoken word piece by local artist Alice Hi-on Aether and a 24 min documentary!!! Weve also got brand new songs/ videos from the Tin Town Trackers from Coonamble NSW, 2 x elders stories and a new track/ video from Normanton, QLD ABOUT TO DROP and we leave for projects on Thursday Island and Townsville QLD THIS Saturday.
