DREAM NIGERIA There was a country A country I never knew, In it everyday was new, Country were promises were fulfilled, And other amenities refilled, Gallant leaders of vision, Worthy servant of submission, Resources were useful, Cos they were bountifull, People smile so wildly, Laugh so heartily, The employed were satisfied, And the unemployed were assured, The roads were alluring, Cos light was lasting, Justice was not in delay, And people help each other like a relay, Every sector was precious, People need not go into crime, For the heart of govt and people were in rhyme, Canaan of milk and honey, Alas! Dream country is no more, It is still far off in miles. AND AS NIGERIA CELEBRATE IT’S 53RD ANNIVERSARY, I TEND TO CHECK AGAIN IN D DICTIONARY THE MEANING OF ‘INDEPENDENCE’
