DURP Associate Professor Jeff Brown and PhD student Enrique Ramos have received a $62,000 grant from the Mineta Transportation Institute to study modern streetcar lines in Little Rock, Memphis, Portland, Seattle, and Tampa. The study will fill major gaps in our understanding of the goals and objectives of these investments, their actual performance, and strategies for improving system performance going forward. As more than 40 cities are either planning or building streetcar lines, the lessons from this study will be very useful to communities throughout the United States.
