Dad continues to do better than expected medically - nurses and doctors have been very positive. Still pretty much unable to communicate, other than occasionally opening his eyes very slightly or squeezing our hands. Hardest to watch them move him - visibly in pain when they do it, but obviously it has to be done. Currently trying to wean him off the ventilator - if he doesnt get too tired after a couple hours, will take whatever step is next in that process.
