Daily Announcements 10/11/13 This weeks field hockey player of the week is Alexa Thomas. Alexa has shown immense improvement while learning to play field hockey. She always is responsible and makes every practice and game and is always the first to volunteer to help out with equipment. Alexa is a true asset to the Williamstown middle school field hockey team! The Renaissance BRAVES morning cart is open. The BRAVES morning cart will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays only on the 5/6 side of the building. The carts can be found in front of A211 and A111. Come out and support your school. To all students: It is the Middle of the Marking Period and we are all feeling a little crazy. Crazy Hat day is today. Donate $1 and get a sticker to be able to wear the hat. No sticker no crazy hat. Stickers on sale during lunch and during homeroom. Attention students interested in joining student council, completed applications and petitions are due by the end of homeroom today. All 5th and 6th grade students need to return paperwork to the drop box outside of room B205. All 7th & 8th graders need to return paperwork to the drop box in the 7/8 office. Students who have been selected to participate will receive a student council membership card and meeting information in their HR on October 18th. To all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students: Its never to late to learn how to play one of the band instruments . If you’re interested, please see Ms. Parks in E104. Have a wonderful weekend. The 7/8 art club will meet next Thursday in Mr. Arons art room. I am pleased to say all portfolio submissions were accepted just make sure that you are picked up at 4pm promptly or take home the late bus… WMS PTO 8th grade dance is holding a fundraiser at yogo factory Crosskeys road Sicklerville on Thursday October 17th, 2013 from 6:30 to 8:30 proceeds to benefit 2014 8th grade dance - thank you for your support!!!! To all newspaper signups - we will all meet next Tuesday in the 5/6 library. make sure you are picked up at 4pm exactly or take the late bus home. Also find out what color bus you take before you come. The Be the Change team challenges you to…… Acknowledge someone you respect by telling them you respect them. The Entertainment book Sale is in full swing. Every student who would like to defray the cost of their end of the year trip will get 50% of the total amount they sell. Each book is $30 sold here from school and $25 if someone buys it online. All orders must go to homeroom teacher first and then right to A216 to get your books. Any questions please see Mr.VanHouten. “ It’s time to start preparing for winter sports! Boys and girls basketball wrestling and cheerleading begin on Monday December 2nd. All interested 6th-8th graders are to complete the necessary paperwork forms that can be found on the website under sports or picked up at your respective grade level office. All paperwork must be submitted to Mr. Whirlow in the 7/8 office by Friday, November 14th. We are running a video contest to the whole middle school. The theme is “Speak Up; Stand up; Be brave. Any student who enters must hand in an entry form with no longer than 3 minute video submission. You can get the form from your homeroom teachers and there are also extra in each main office. We think our students are very creative and could really make some great videos so please get working!!!! The deadline for the video submission is November 12th. Any questions please see Ms. Spillman in the guidance office. The next Makers Guild meeting will be October 22nd. Please make sure your ride is at the school to pick you up at 3:50 or you will have to take the activity bus at 4.
