Daily Devotion 08/12/2014 1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honour on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. When we first become Christians we have this zeal for God that is unshakeable and we are ready to leap into the things of God. We soon come to realise that as we take on the will of God in this world, we are met with many challenges and trials. It may be that our patience is tested with our kids, or we are struggling financially to make ends meat, it may be that we struggle to hold our tongue when everyone is gossiping or to commit time to prayer. This scripture encapsulates this very real experience in our lives and how out of these experiences can come great joy, glory and honour. As we learn to be patient with our kids, or learn to trust in God for provision, our faith is proven to be genuine. As we stand firm in our faith through the help of Jesus, we will be rewarded with a prize far greater than anything this world can give or offer. As it is written, we will inherit praise glory and honour. So be encouraged from this and count it a blessing when you face trials and challenges and have to overcome battles because out if this our faith is affirmed, strengthened and honour follows. As you go into this week take on this concept and turn every challenge and hard time into an opportunity for your faith to be strengthened. Dear Father God, we give u thanks and praise this day for everything you have done in and through our lives. We thank you that you have chosen us to go into the world and tell people of your good news We understand that we will face trials and challenges along the way, but we give You thanks that these are opportunities to build our faith.
