Daily Dose; Doctors Orders: Angels and Airwaves The Dream Walker Overall (7/10) With the new LP from the brainchild of Tom Delonge (aka the source of all of my teen angst) its easy to see that after a substantial line-up change, the band is still trying to hold on to their distinct sound. Ten songs, relatively consistent, dropped super low-key via Rolling Stone with an accompanying short film. Im talking business moves on their part. But even before the record dropped I was skeptical, because there was only one thought that permeated my mind... WHERES ATOM? THIS RUBIN DUDE BETTER BRING THOSE FAT, ATMOSPHERIC, INNOVATIVE, AWE-INSPIRING DRUMS!!! But he didnt. There was a moment (Bullets In the Wind)...but the band has obviously changed. Dream Walker gives the impression of a more mellowed version of previous records but this was to be expected with founding members of the group gone. This still is a well made album with good songwriting, solid song structure, and something that definitely adds to the conversation as to why Tom is still making money playing music...because hes too f*cking good at it.
