Daily Texts – Tuesday, January 21, 2014 God called to Moses, “Come no closer! Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” Exodus 3:5 Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 Do you see the great change that happened from the Old Testament verse in Exodus to the New Testament verse in Hebrews? What caused this joyous change? Consider that when God was born into our world as the baby Jesus, his feet were naked. When he died on the cross, his feet were painfully exposed. Holy God took on our unholy exposure. Through the incarnation, death, and resurrection of God in Christ, it was accomplished for us that we can approach God without fear. We can come boldly before Almighty and Holy God exposed in our sin, wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked (Revelation 3:17). Why? Because through the death and resurrection of Jesus we have been forgiven all of our sin and made holy. The dividing wall of hostility between Holy God and sinful humanity has been torn in two (Ephesians 2:14). Of all of the great gifts that Jesus gave us, the opportunity to stand before God without fear is precious. Believe in Jesus and confidently approach God to receive mercy and find grace to help in your time of need. In Christ, Pastor Steve Brown
