Dance Tuesday night in Berkeley PAUSE ......The Liminal and the Pause A metaphor I have heard for the liminal is standing in a threshold of a doorway; you are not in the room and you are not outside of the room. You are in the in between. Where is the liminal on the Soul Motion dance floor? My questioning of this idea comes up with one possibility: the pause. The pause is where you are occupying a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary or threshold. You are not in the dance or outside of the dance. You are between. As we all have experienced, the pause is such an opportunity to begin again- to relax- to release- to re access- and it certainly can contain unlimited and almost indescribable opportunity for transformation and transcendence. In that in between, you can make a choice and as you join the dance once again, you are brand new. My post today is to honor the Pause and to celebrate its gifts.
