Dancing skelewu with politicians -1 I will be looking at a gift - TopicsExpress

Dancing skelewu with politicians -1 I will be looking at a gift horse in the mouth if I do not concede the role the Nigerian politicians have played in shaping this society called Nigeria. I woke up this morning and decided that I will not let their case be that of the red-neck Agama lizard who nodes to himself after pulling the feat of jumping from my roof top after a long period of noise making on the galvanised metal sheet because I did not say a round of applauds! First and foremost, I like to excuse a lot of the politicians for their gross ignorance occasioned perhaps by illiteracy, but on a second thought, a good conscience should override the effect of lack of basic education. Real education in the sense of it is not found only within the four walls of any particular community, be it primary, post primary or tertiary schools, but inherent in the acquisition of experience which has been said to be the greatest teacher. This experience is a function of such thing as exposure to and interaction with a better over a period of time. Nigerian politicians are the most travelling folks I know. They are either travelling within the country causing chaos or outside the country to hide funds stolen from public treasury, yet, many seem not to have the basic experience any right thinking fellow may reckon with. In their quest for political power, they have laid to rest the Nigerian police force. The word police in this society no longer draws attention, let alone trigger fear as what comes to mind is twenty naira note or something close. This is because the constable standing by the road side does not want to be left a pauper while his senior colleague completes his mansion made possible by election-execution-funds. The constable in his quest to keep in touch with reality harass commuters on the road robbing them of meagre naira notes without shame or fear. Who will issue the query? The DPO whose castles address and architectural design the constable can recite better than the you have the right to remain silent......? We have long gotten to the state where high ranking police officers, talk more, corofos can not tell the difference between breach of public order and public security and peaceful protest as they make indiscriminate use of section 11 of the constitution when rounding up citizens exercising section 39 of the same constitution on the order of their modern-day-slave-masters. The likes of Dino Melaye and the Uni-Abuja lecturers who were recent victims will make better guest lecturers on this topic. This intoxicating dance seem not to be performed alone with the men-in-black as evidence now proves material facts that even men-in-wig and black gown have long began moving their limbs slowly in appreciation of the rhythm. Recently, Justice Aloma Mukhtar, CJN, lamented the poor budgetary allocation to the 3rd and hallowed arm of government over the years. This calculated attempt by the politicians in the executive and legislative arms of government to make the judiciary less effective and sane by starving her of funds has yielded the expected result because, right before our very eyes, justice has become a package for the highest bidder and not for the just. The justice Aloysius Castina-Alu and Isa Ayo Salami saga let the bolt out of the blue when the duo who were chief justice of the federation and president of the court of appeal respectively to the stupefaction of Nigerians who saw the temple of justice as the last resort of the common man, accused and counter accused themselves of sharp practices in the discharge of their duties in their supposedly highly noble and esteemed positions. Now that the EFCC is on trail of judges with apolitical facts and real evidence, one does not know what to make of nemos judex in causa sua. What is it about this black attire? One may query. Should we also change the gown of judges to a more friendly colour like sky blue or off-camouflage colour? That is an issue for another. In case you hold the vague opinion that the colour of fabric worn affects mindset, what will you say about the bible and Koran carrying members of political parties, most of whom are adorned in the direct opposite of the black colour? This category of people use to say to us their followers, do what I say and not what I do, but with they now supplying the blessings that keep skelewu in vogue, the sermon has changed to if you slack you lack!, therefore carry go politician, you are on point as long as tithe or zakat comes in. I rest my case on this note, before some clergy cautions me with the touch not my anointed threat. For the records, service was wonderful last night. God bless Nigeria!
