Daniel 11 In chapter 11 Daniel describes how Egypt has three wars - TopicsExpress

Daniel 11 In chapter 11 Daniel describes how Egypt has three wars with the kingdom of the antichrist. This means that we can expect to see Egypt taking a predominant role in future contest. This is happening right now as Egyptian forces are now coming to aid Saudi Arabia. The Saudi’s are arming the Sunni’s aligned with ISIS in Iraq and Syria. In the past week they have flown several tons of arms and equipment into a base in the Anbar province in Iraq. The Iranians are sending even more arms to combat the Sunni’s. As of today there are at least six nations involved in this conflict: Iraq, Iran, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the USA. Those are the nations that have openly committed to this war. The nations that are committed in secret but are one way or another involved includes Lebanon, Israel and Turkey. Here is what the war is really about: The Sunni’s are fighting to re-establish the Caliphate. This was the original Islamic Empire established by Muhammad. It survived in one form or another until the end of the First World War when it collapsed and the present Middle-East maps were drawn. They believe that once the Caliphate is reestablished the chosen Caliph will come who will bring the entire world to Islam. The Shiite’s are fighting to establish the government of the Mahdi, the deliverer. They believe that he will crush all who do not follow his commands and that he alone will be able to bring the world into Islam. They are basically looking for the same person, but they are approaching their goals from different perspectives. This war will continue to spread until there are two clear alliances with Egypt taking the lead of the southern alliance. The Northern alliance will be ruled by the Caliph/Mahdi group. They will eventually take over Turkey, the former seat of the Caliph. This northern kingdom will cover Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Kuwait, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and several of the former Soviet Republics which are also Muslims. This group will include both Sunni and Shiite Muslims. Daniel describes this Empire as having two feet. It will be divided fairly evenly between the Sunni and the Shiites. The first ruler of this Caliphate will be a charismatic man who will inspire the people’s confidence. He will be a great ruler who many will no doubt assume will be the antichrist. However we are told in Daniel 11:15-19 that the northern king will wage a successful war with Egypt. He will kill many thousands of people and even move on the Jerusalem. However one of his own people will rebel against him causing him to come against one of his own fortified cities. It is at this time that this leader dies, whether murdered or not the Bible doesn’t say. The next person who becomes Caliph is more interested in money as the Bible calls him merely “a gatherer of taxes”. He will be more interested in pleasure than in the glory of the Caliphate. But then he too dies and passes from the scene. Then the antichrist will subtly take the kingdom. All of these things happen BEFORE the antichrist arises to take power. This could all happen before the rapture of the church which means that we may well be seeing the beginnings of this season of open warfare in the Middle-East that Daniel predicted.
