Dar City Center - DCC - KCC FC Arrive In Sudan Ahead Of El Merriekh Clash Reigning Uganda Premier league champions KCC Fc arrived in Khartoum on Monday morning and where they will play a friendly game with Sudan giants El Merriekh tomorrow at the Khartoum stadium. The Lugogo based club traveled with 22 players, however, Martin Kiiza, Simon Mbaziira and Rogers Lukwiya dropped by the coach Abdullah Mubiru who himself did not travel but Asante Kotoko left back Joseph Ochaya was controversially included on the squad despite the fact that he still has a six months contract with the Ghanaian club. The new signings Savio Kabugo, Benjamin Ochan and Francis Olaki were part of the team that traveled to Sudan. Abdullah Mubiru has already been criticized for his inconsistency in player selection where he has not kept the same starting lineup since his take over from George Nsimbe. The friendly is meant to prepare KCC for the Caf Champions league that kicks off next month where the Ugandan representatives will face Cameroonian side Cosmos de Bafia. KCC defeated El Merriekh 2-0 at this same venue last year when they met in the champions’ league and Salim Jamal who was then at the Ugandan club shone. They will be back in Kampala to face another Sudan side, El Hilal at the Phillip Omondi Stadium on Saturday. El Merriekh has played a series of friendlies since the start of the 2015 including a 2-2 with Bundesliga side Schalke O4 at the Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar earlier this month. The game will be played at the Khartoum Stadium , in Khartoum at 8pm. Assistant coach John Luyinda will be in charge of the team. KCC FC squad Goalkeepers: Yasin Mugabi, Emmanuel Opio and Benjamin Ochan Defenders: Sakka Mpiima, Habib Kavuma, Simon Namwanja, Ayub Kizza, Timothy Awani, Isaac Ntege, Ronnie Kisekka and Joseph Ochaya. Midfielders: Owen Kasule, Hakim Ssenkumba, Tom Masiko, Yasin Mugume, Paul Mucureezi, Michael Birungi, Ivan Ntege Forwards: Herman Wasswa, Francis Olaki, Derrick Nsibambi and William Wadri.
