Darling friends, Earlier this spring, I started the project - The Polymeric Islands - a project that aims to higher the level of engagement towards the plastic polluted oceans. The tackled topic is in relation our Ocean’s garbage islands. My research supports shaping a fictional nation, where I seek to alter the conventional methods of raising awareness as they tend to portray the environment as a “borgin cliché” matter. In this project people are introduced to the, quite literally, rubbish subject through humour and art. I got the amazing opportunity to travel the North Atlantic Ocean on a sailed expedition together with Pangaea Explorations & The Ocean Cleanup, where we did several multi-level trawling every day and shared an emotional journey through amazement, wonder, anger, hope & activism. This is a short video documentation of our journey, a video that aims to capture and transmit the essence of the majestic ocean!
