Date: 10th March, 2014 GM/SCR and CMD / Singareni Collieries Company Limited reviewed the progress on Railway related developmental works in SCCL area to boost coal loading Shri Sutheertha Bhattacharya, Chairman and Managing Director, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), met Shri P.K. Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway, at Rail Nilayam today i.e. 10th March, 2014. The CMD discussed with the GM on the current status of various Railway developmental works like provision of coal loading sidings and construction of new Railway lines etc. being undertaken by SCR in the SCCL area. The CMD also requested the General Manager to allot the requisite number of rakes to scale up the volumes of coal being transported by Rail from SCCL. Shri Sutheertha Bhattacharya, while discussing on the current requirement of rakes for coal loading, informed Shri Srivastava that the SCCL would be requiring allotment of around 22 to 25 rakes per day to cater to the needs at various coal loading points such as Yellandu, Godavarikhani, Kothagudem, Manuguru, Srirampur and Ramakrishnapur etc. during the residual period of the current financial year to maximise the coal off take by Rail. The GM informed that necessary action will be taken in this regard within the availability of rakes on SCR system on a day-to-day basis. The allotment of rakes will also be subject to the progress of loading and advance placement of indents for rakes at various sidings by SCCL, he stated. The General Manager and CMD have jointly reviewed the progress on various Railway infrastructural works being taken up in SCCL area such as provision of coal loading siding at Asifabad; finalisation of alignment plan on the Bhadrachalam – Sathupalli new Railway line; approval of detailed project report on Bethampudi to Koyagudem line and strengthening of the track at Manuguru siding etc. Completion of the works on these key projects would facilitate enhanced loading of coal by Rail from SCCL, diverting the traffic from road, which in turn would help in reducing the pollution and traffic congestion etc. in the concerned areas. Shri P.K.Srivastava, General Manager/SCR instructed the officials concerned to closely monitor the progress on these works for their expeditious completion as it would benefit both the Railways and SCCL. Shri J.N.Jha, Chief Operations Manager, South Central Railway and Shri Nagya, Executive Director (Coal Movement), SCCL were also present during the deliberations.
