David Gandy - Supermodel *Before graduating from University with a Marketing degree, David Gandy was entered into a modeling competition on ITV’s This Morning. He won the competition and with it, a prestigious contract with Select Model Management. In 2006 David became the muse of exclusive designers Dolce and Gabbana, annually starring in their apparel campaigns but best known as the face of their “Light Blue” fragrance, currently one of the world’s top selling male fragrances. The iconic campaign saw his face and body become recognizable literally overnight, with a 50ft billboard in Times Square, over 11 million internet hits to view his campaign and global recognition. David has appeared in numerous campaigns and catwalk shows, opening for D&G in Milan in 2010, with Naomi Campbell for Fashion For Relief and has worked alongside supermodels including Giselle, Eva Herzigova and Scarlett Johansson. He has shot with some of the most sought-after international photographers including Mario Testino, Mariano Vivanco and Steven Meisel and boasts an envious portfolio of editorial work including dozens of covers and editorial photoshoots. In 2010, David made male modeling history, twice: he become the first and only male model nominated for the BFC’s Model Of The Year award and the first male in his profession to appear on BBC1’s Friday Night With Jonathan Ross. Diversifying into film, in 2010 David made his debut film appearance starring alongside Helena Christensen in “Away We Stay” for W Hotels. The David Gandy Style Guide app, which he created and produced to help give style and clothing advice to men, went Top 3 in the hugely competitive Lifestyle chart. He continued to promote men’s fashion, speaking at the Oxford University Union on a panel of fashion influencers including Tony McGee, Claire Wilcox, Frances Card and Dolly Jones. David kicked off 2011 by winning Shortlist’s “Face Of Today” award. He started writing a blog on Vogue and was named an official car reviewer for GQ. In June, David became the first ever male model to be honoured with his own coffee table book, dedicated to him by Dolce & Gabbana, celebrating their work over the past 6 years. In 2012, David was named to the British Fashion Councils Committee for London Collections: Men. That same year, he was asked to guest edit the Men’s Issue of London’s Evening Standard Magazine. He went on to make his debut appearance in the magazine’s “1,000 Most Influential Londoner’s” supplement--an honour which was repeated in 2013. In January 2013, David launched his charity foundation, Blue Steel Appeal (named for the satirical fashion film Zoolander. The foundation will host fashion-related events to benefit Comic Relief/Red Nose Day. That same year, he was invited to participate in the Mille Miglia, a 1,000 mile race/rally in Italy. His co-driver was Yasmin Le Bon. In 2013, Luxury shoe brand Bionda Castana featured David in their fashion film called David Gandys Goodnight. He is currently the face of the Marks and Spencer Collezion Line, Lucky Brand Jeans and Massimo Dutti. In addition, he is the brand ambassador for Johnnie Walker Blue Label and Jaguar UK.
