David Starkey has said that Alex Salmond is a Caledonian Hitler and that Scotland is a “feeble little country”. He said Mr Salmond thinks that “the English, like the Jews, are everywhere”, before arguing that Hitler was “more democratically elected”. This is despite the SNP winning a landslide victory in the last Holyrood poll, and the fact that their membership has risen uncontrollably since the referendum, which still continues to rise. The fact that these new tactics of winning over people to stay in the Union and stop them questioning those at Westminster, by telling us that the SNP reference Hitler and his reign over Germany, is completely wrong and a desperate act to keep the 55% faithful to the Union.
