If you let controversy defeat you, then you have no principles. SHARE WITH HUMANITY: A bully pushes you and other people he dislikes, into a raging river. The swift current pulls you toward a waterfall. Youll die if you fall off the edge. You crash into a large rock in the middle of the rushing waters. You feel grateful to be pulled onto the rock by the two people already there. The rock is large enough to hold seven people. Now that youre safe, you fear that you may fall off the rock if it gets overcrowded. The other victims of the bully try to clamber onto the rock. Self preservation causes you to do a quick calculation. You believe its much safer to have three people on a rock that can hold seven. You kick them off and shout a warning to them about the waterfall. You gaze at them as they fall off the edge, with terror-filled screams, to their death. You feel justified that youve done you part by warning them about the impending danger. You continue to defend your new-found territory. You dont think deeply enough to realize that the rising river could wash you off the rock to share the fate of you rejects.
