Day 12 #justbepresent is Krounchasana, Heron Pose. My journey with yoga is different every day. This posture is from the second series of Ashtanga yoga and challenges the core strength, flexibility and even balance of the body and mind. The first time when I did it, I felt pain in so many different places that I thought some part of my body will give up and break. With the time it got better. This particular day though my practice felt weak and I was struggling with my body, until I realized it was my mind that I was having the struggle with. I had entered a cycle of negativity that started with an event in my life recently. I used to feel this way all the time years ago, I felt like I was unable to achieve anything, I felt a total lack of confidence and felt unworthy of love. And, when I feel this way, my chest contracts inwardly, and my whole body becomes unstable and unsure, overwhelmed and restless. This is how I felt that same day, when the video was taken. Then one more time I came to realize how our bodies become mirrors of our inner experiences and our thoughts. And at some point, when we are done resisting, we give up the fight, accepting ourselves and relaxing into the imperfectness of our being with love. And this is the moment when our feelings start to mend, when our bodies start to open, and it feels incredible. No matter how much we try to run from ourselves and our true being, we will always have to face it and find the resolution and peace within. And it only happens when we are present in the moment and just are!
