Day 14- Rallied for a 140km ride into Qadrif. This will be our last rest day before crossing into Ethiopia on Monday. While peddling into town we passed several herds of camels, donkeys,and goats on their way to the Saturday market. This also meant we saw a lot of very smelly road kill. Arriving in town, we were stopped by the local police and asked to wait. Dumbfounded, we cooled down under a tree. A police car eventually came wizing passed and we were told to follow it into our camp site for the night. Somehow the town heard we were arriving and wanted to make sure all the riders had a police escort. The local news channel also showed up and I was interviewed regarding my experience in Sudan. Apparently to be lunched next Friday on Ashorooq.net. After a shower and washing my very smelly laundry, we headed into town. I was able to find a piña colada drink and a bounty bar in this quirky little town! Life is grand! #tda2014
