Day 16!What a great day for my bubby. I came in a little late today but it was kinda a good thing bc I was able to get our POWER OF ATTORNEY signed!! IT only took a month but the docs had to make sure Kory Ware was in a right state of mind before they would let him sign it. Just to still let everyone know kory is still confused on where he is. He this he is in liberty hospital. He also repeats himself constantly, he says he alwasy want to go see his parents in there room down the hall. Its frustrating at times try to remind him that they are not here. He wants to always argue about it with me.IT starting to take a toll on me but when it gets to the point i want to yell at him I just take a walk and come back in. I wish I had a punching bag installed in our room, that would work so much better. #Punchoutfrustation. Any ways back to kory progress for the day. Speech has started him on a very intense test that will show what areas of laugage skills he needs to work on. Some of the question are hard for me!! A lot of it is how long he can hold something into his memory and be able to repeat it 2 minutes later. PT today had him up standing in the assistance machine for almost 20 minutes. He never complained once until like 17 minute in!! It was awesome!! getting those legs stronger. I was able to transfer Kory myself today from the bed to the chair. Let me tell ya.. Im glad he is down in weight, it like caring around limp weight. Hopefully he will be able to help more by next week. His second session of PT today was the therapist just stretching out his legs making sure they stay loose. OT today was kind boring first session the therapist just worked on movements on his left arm. Hopefully they will start doing more exercises with it tomorrow. the 2nd one I slept through! I was tired. Sorry. i think they just did more stretching of his exterminates. I know on Monday they will be doing a swallow test. The test is checking his vocal cords to see if they are properly shutting. They are doing this because Kory voice is still low and airy and is still not able to swallow regular liquides. They also want him to be on a regular diet! its so hard figuring out what extra foods I can get him to hold him over until his actual meals. YEsterday he I bought him taco BEll but didnt eat it all so he had left overs. He ended up taking one of his burritos and dunking it into his thickened Pepsi! NASTY!! He also Had a Ruben sandwithc for the first time today, he dunked that in his salsa that came with his chz dilla I bought from him also today! Its amazing some of this food he food have never ate. Since his brain injury, he will eat any thing and everything. Yesterday I think he put creamy veggie soup on his chocolate cake. so weird!!! Im getting really nervouse about leaving him for almost a whole week. I know it will be good for me. Aleast when I come home I will be super busy and wont have time to let it get to me.
