Day 17 - ALL IN Fasting and Prayer Luke 11:1 NIV One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When He was finished, one of His disciples said to Him, Lord, TEACH US TO PRAY! If you will notice the disciple did not ask Jesus, teach us to be leaders, to preach, to teach, or to disciple others. Jesus preceded to teach them by saying heres how you pray and He gives them what has been called the Lords Prayer. Then Jesus instructs them with a parable. Suppose you went to your friends house next door at midnight to borrow some food. You had some unexpected company arrive and your frig was empty. Your neighbor friend is already in bed, doors locked and lights are out. He calls out from bed, leave men alone, its midnight and Im already in bed. Im not helping your this time. Jesus said, in verse 8, Yet because of your SHAMELESS AUDACITY he will surely get up and give you as much as you need. Jesus is teaching us the power of persistent prayer and instructs us to: - Ask(keep on asking) and you will receive - Seek (keep on seeking) and you will find - Knock (keep on knocking) and the door will open Prayer Focus: Resurrect that need or dream that you laid aside long ago and consistently give it to God in prayer.
