Day 17 of Thanks - three things today: one that we have a Creator who is with us, particularly during the storms in our lives, both literally like today with the tornados in Illinois, and figuratively day to day. While we dont have all the answers as to why terrible events occur, nor do we even pretend that we know why, those of us who follow The Way continue to put our trust in Him, as we reach out with a helping hand as well as prayers to and for those afflicted. Second, I give thanks for an awesome time of worship this morning @ Carrier Mills First United Methodist Church! Your singing was tremendous this morning (thanks Bill Brown for leading us)! And Goliath (who made his appearance in our midst) was most excellent! Plus third, the amount of food which the Scouts collected was amazing! Thanks to Steve Wilson for organizing the food collection, to all who gave, and to those who will be organizing the food this week for our Thanksgiving Food Giveaway this coming Saturday from 10 am - 2 pm from our Fellowship Hall. The food and turkeys will be given to any family in the Carrier Mills - Stonefort area who could use a little extra!
