Day 2 of five of my favourite songs and well, it could only be the Supreme Maestro Jon Anderson on his 70th birthday. Unfortunately, he was taken ill last night during his concert in Santiago, Chile so big love and thoughts to him for a speedy and complete recovery. As a narrative to this particular song, Jon is my lifelong embodiment of love and beauty since I first discovered Yes when I was 13. He also proved to be my guardian angel when I was staring into the abyss once upon a time during my first marriage. The situation was so ghastly, I found out years later that my Dad and brothers were hatching a plot to kidnap me from the man in question who finally left me practically brainwashed and nearly bankrupt afterwards. Jon came along with In The City of Angels and songs like Betcha, Top Of The World, Under The Sun and Hurry Home helped to bring me back into the real and loving world again. I could have chosen any of those or most of Olias but this is the song which is my personal mission statement, given a slightly more contemporary treatment here.
