Day 29 of #yogasutrachallenge YS 1.29 Tatah pratyak cetenadhigamo ‘pyantarayabhavas ca – From this practice all the obstacles disappear and simultaneously dawns knowledge of the inner Self Reaching enlightenment may come through several practices. We can try to shut down our minds following Raja yoga, the yoga Patanjali is teaching or through Bhakti yoga, the yoga consisting in devoting ourselves to Isvara. Devotion is achieved among other things by practicing Japa yoga; chanting OM brings us closer to God and we end up melting ourselves with God. God lies within us; God is our True Self. Because our mind is so noisy, because the thoughts are not allowing us to “rest”, we become too much focus on our day-to-day worldly stuffs, and on our little insignificants worries. All of that has already been repeated a number of times now so hopefully we all get it. What is simply said here is that the repetition of the OM mantra opens the gate to the spirituality allowing us to truly connect with God and then with our True Self. By transcending all our limitations (e.g. everything that binds us and most of all our Ego!) we become that transcendent reality. Getting closer to this allows us to get a better understanding of the Truth lying within us; it allows us to see ourselves as we truly are, as the reflection of this beautiful and pure soul named Purusha. We then detach ourselves from Nature (Prakriti) by penetration of the finite nature that Prakriti represents. We are now understating Prakriti and all of its divisions and as master of Prakriti our mind is now free from it and can merge into Purusha. All this starts to make sense to me, but I admit it may be easier regarding the time I am dedicating into this analysis. And do not be hard with yourself if you are still struggling to make the link between all these different concepts! This is very hard to understand and we all have a different rhythm! So just take your time, maybe print these daily thoughts (and print as well Natalieyoga ones as they are very comprehensive and truly beautiful). At least this is what I am doing! Everyday I print the interpretation of the day before, both mine and Natalie’s ones, and I have another read through it. Some days I feel enlightened by understanding and knowledge, others I feel even more confused. But I don’t get upset about that. I keep reading them and with this daily progression as well I feel more and more permeated by that. I guess this is kind of my daily Japa practice!! By repeating it, I first familiarize myself with that and when I know the idea “by heart” the meaning starts to appear more obvious to me. So yes I do feel Japa yoga is working! What about you? What are your thoughts? Where do your difficulties stand? Where do you struggle? Please do share your thoughts with us!! I am so keen to hear how you are all doing to cope with issues and difficult situations? Sharing is at the basis of all the progress we can make all together. Sharing, relying on each other is what will create a better world. Don’t be afraid to open your heart here, I will never judge you because we are all the same; we just manifest each other through different situations but what lies within ourselves, within our heart is identical. We all experience pain, suffering, joy, passion, excitement, doubt, fears and so on. We all think we are alone and that no one else can understand but that’s not true. I think what makes us think that way is maybe the fear to expose our vulnerability to others. You should not fear that; this is what is going to make you stronger. The one who will be hurt in this process is your Ego, not you! I’m always saying to myself that what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger, don’t you think? :-) #yogasutrachallenge #trueyogacollective #natalieyoga
