Day 3 #TrustinGod Were half way there! Woot Woot! This morning, I was thinking about all that Ive had going this past week and how Im struggling to continue to trust God. I feel like I have more bills than money, more work than energy, more relationship issues than I have patience for. It gets hard for me to trust in God with Im faced with the reality of whats going on in my life. But I was reading this verse, Jeremiah 17:7-8, But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. Maybe youre like me, and the reality of different things in your life (academics, family, money, friends, the future, whatever) are making it feel difficult to trust in God. The bible makes it clear that we will experience heat or droughts and it may actually last longer than we desire it to. But the bible also makes clear that when we trust in God, when we put our confidence in Him, we do not need to fear or worry when the heat comes because we will never fail to bear fruit. This means that we will be successful, we will prosper, we will experience the Lords goodness and blessings. He will not leave us hanging. This finals week, lets choose to place our confidence in the Lord. How can we practice trusting in the Lord? We are a community, so Im going to challenge us to pray with one another today about one thing (final, project, paper, relationship, finances, etc) we need to entrust to the Lord.
