Day 333 of 365 Days of Gratitude...blessed, blessed, blessed by all the posts, comments, texts, etc about the amazing Jake Owen video Im lucky enough to be a part of! Especially some special words my 333 sister Kimber Annie Engstrom shared with me today :-) This project feels very much in alignment with my mission of generating the conversation of love a around the world through books, music, speaking, TV, film and the web... Im sure it was done on purpose...releasing this video Thanksgiving week--it gives us all a little more to think and THANK about! Heres my post from earlier today--just incase *YOU* missed it. Love, Love and More Love...XOOOOOO Laura I had a feeling if I tuned into the #CMThot20 today I might see #JakeOwens video for What We Aint Got. Kicked off the hour beating out Lady A to make it in at #20!!! So honored to be a part of this powerful project. Be grateful for creative geniuses/souls, like songwriter Travis Meadows who have taken on (barely) living through often tormented lives, so they can then write songs that let you know youre not alone. To be clear I dont have cancer and am not going through treatment. When the casting went out thats what they were looking for. I sent a message and said I have Alopecia Areata and lost my hair when I was 11. I struggled for many years, wearing wigs till I was 30, never letting any one, besides a doctor, including myself, see my bald head without a wig on for 10 years!!! Now I embrace my bald head and know that this experience has gifted me a greater sense of compassion, understanding and empathy for others that I would never trade for my hair. Everyday people come up to me and ask if I have cancer--its because they have or someone they love has, they want to wish me well, give me a hug or say a prayer. I let them know I take well wishes, prayers & hugs, but Im blessed to have my health. This video is a big honor to represent so many of my brothers and sisters who struggle with their health, addiction, religion, relationships, the loss of a loved one--Ive personally been affected by all of these. Now I write childrens books that focus on making sure children know how truly loved they are, no matter whats going on in their life or in the world around them. I also do school programs where I talk about the power that comes from being yourself. Oh...I still have my moments where I wish for more, its always a process learning to stay present to the blessings. I am blessed to be part of this project. Jake has one of the biggest hearts in Nashville and I believe this song is going to bring him some well deserved recognition. Thank You God!! TYG! #JakeOwen #CMThot20 #CMT #Gratitude #Nashville Heres a link to the full video--be sure to watch to the end... https://youtube/watch?v=GGQmKA15VCk&sns=fb
