Talented opener Shan Masood, who made his debut for Pakistan in the first Test against South Africa in Abu Dhabi on Monday, received a boost here when prominent businessman and cricket organiser Nadeem Omar announced a handsome reward of Rs100,000 for the young player and congratulated him on getting his Pakistan cap. Nadeem, the president of Pakistan Cricket Club for which left-handed Shan regularly plays, also announced cash awards of Rs50,000 each for young all-rounders Anwar Ali and Akbar-ur-Rehman for their appearance in the Twenty20 and three-day games respectively. Club secretary Azam also congratulated Shan for making his Test debut on Monday. Shan is the third Pakistan CC player to represent Pakistan after batsman Asad Shafiq and wicket-keeper Sarfraz Ahmed.
