Day 39 The good news today is that Caleb made sufficient progress - TopicsExpress

Day 39 The good news today is that Caleb made sufficient progress to graduate to downstairs here at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital which is acute rehabilitation. On this floor he goes from 3 hours of rehabilitation to 5 hours each day. He is in room 145 now. He is also in a new type of bed. It is close to the floor, has no rail, but does have a mat on the floor by it. His occupational therapist today put tooth paste on a tooth brush and put it in his hand. Praise The Lord he knew what to do with it. He brushed his teeth, both top and bottom, not as good as he did before, but I thought it was pretty good for the first time. When he was done he spit the tooth paste out instead of swallowing it. It was on his clothes instead of into a sink, but... Praise The Lord for the progress. During therapy in the morning, Mercy says that he was given a marker to write his name with. She says that though he wrote very small, she could see that he was forming a c and an a and then run on the rest. Another gave him some strawberry sherbet and asked him if he wanted more. With his index finger he pointed to himself as if to say, I want more. Tonight he is very restless which one of the nurses today said is often characteristic of a person who recuperates faster. In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed to the Father. I have read of people who said that to pray, Your will be done, is to pray without faith. For some it might be. But in Matthew 26:39 Jesus prayed, My Father, if it possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will. Was Jesus guilty of praying without faith? My Bible tells me that He never sinned and to not trust God is sin. So, in the midst of a difficult situation, submission to Gods will is necessary while trusting in God to do what is best for His glory and our good. We know that God is able to restore Caleb fully and we ask Him to do so, but we submit to loving and glorifying Jesus Christ, whatever He chooses to do.
