Day 4 of 5 Today has flown and felt so busy but I am grateful to have time. I have also loved the passivity with which many of the nominees have accepted this ‘gratefulness assignment’. 10. Mick – for treating my sister so beautifully. You deserve the happiness you bring to each others’ lives. And thanks for being a good uncle too. You made a good impression on J. And PS to Narelle, she is a great aunty to my kids as well. Thank you both. Mick, we appreciate your kindness to Dad when he was sick. It meant a lot to him too in a very difficult time when it is difficult to retain dignity. Your help on the farm too made it a much less anxious time. You have a warm and kind heart (but I try to avoid being close when you have an axe! Nel, you will remember that day at the farm getting wood). 11. My colleagues. I’m so lucky to work in a great team with inspiring leadership, and in a large workplace in which I’ve met so many lovely people, many of whom are now close friends. I love sharing my life with such a fabulous group of people, and I include the EU alumni here as well since a few of you have moved on to other new and exciting opportunities! I miss you but am happy that we’ve met. 12. SA Power Networks. You’ve given me so many opportunities in the last 10 years. I recognise how privileged I am to be rewarded with the training and development and interesting work. I am grateful to work in a place and culture that values our safety in the office, in the field, and at home. I’m grateful for the knowledge I can share with friends and family to keep them safe too. I am thankful for the generous leave entitlement that helped me recover post-surgery (years ago) and is a safeguard against future sickness or injury. Related to two of my posts here, SA Power Networks has had a long standing involvement with community work. In 2006 we established a registered trust with tax deductible gift recipient status. The Employee Foundation brings together the talents of employees, friends, and family to raise funds and volunteer time for South Australian organisations. This year we will donate our one millionth dollar. SA Power Networks also generously supports the Foundation. I feel proud to work in an organisation that provides opportunities for employees to connect with our community, and to work with such generous people who volunteer their time and talents so readily.
