Day 4 of my thankfulness challenge—I am thankful for endogenous - TopicsExpress

Day 4 of my thankfulness challenge—I am thankful for endogenous opioids (endorphins), the way my body responds to them, and my awareness of that response. At first, when I would go to physical therapy I would use a piece of exercise equipment called the Nu-step. As I worked my way up to more minutes of riding, I could count on being able to ride seven or eight minutes then crying. I would cry because I was tired. My body was weary. I felt disconsolate. One day, I cried but I nly for two or three minutes. After that, I felt fine, strong, and confident. The endorphins were working! After this I began noticing that my mood almost always lifted after only ten minutes of riding my bike. Even if the day is full, a small amount of exercise makes it go much better. It isnt a big price to pay.
