Day 6: We spend another day on the beach awaiting Mr. Villarreal - TopicsExpress

Day 6: We spend another day on the beach awaiting Mr. Villarreal to finish our watercraft, he says we should be ready to set out at first light tomorrow. The fine members of our expedition have been keeping ourselves busy along the water or treeline as we wait. The good Doctor Sadler has been keeping mostly to himself and his studies, murmuring something about our supply of fresh water to himself as he goes about examining the various wildlife and tidepools. Our friend Mr. Franklin (a local woodsman we brought along when we first set out to settle this area) has been providing fresh carcasses to roast on a nightly basis. That man lacks a single mote of humility, boasting of his tall tales of wrestling bears and punching wolves in the throats. Unfortunately, he seems to tell the truth when it comes to how proficient of a hunter he is. When fishing out with our tracker, Ahmed (i cant even begin to pronounce his full name, my linguistic skills lack the dexterity to produce the range of noises i would need) i was attacked by a marauding sea-beast, I feared it would be a terribly short trip as i looked down the maw of this many-toothed monstrosity, but at the last possible moment, our tracker burst from beneath the waves and began wrestling the terrible beast with nothing more than his hands and "Janbiya"(some Arabian curved blade) As they dissapeared below the waves, i feared i may have just been the cause of the first death in our party. But as i sat on the beach a few hours later making funeral preparations for our lost friend, would you believe i saw the same beast seemingly swimming towards the shore from the horizon. As it drew up onto the sand, it was hefted up over the shoulders of our tracker who had been pushing it ahead of him as he made his way back from the battle with the terrible creature, I was, to say the absolute least, thoroughly impressed. We all ate quite well tonight, but i believe i will put my journal away for today, such excitement has dawned the cover of fatigue over me and i wish to be ready for tomorrow when we set out on our voyage to... wherever we are going. P.S. I seem to have forgotten to mention the fair lady that has accompanied us on our expedition, but i am too tired today, tomorrow perhaps, i will have the time to write my observations on her.
