Day 6 of a week of positive observations, etc. Each day I am to celebrate three positives in my life and tag two friends to start their own weeks. 1: I really enjoy having friends of all ages and stages in life. Earlier this week I mentioned seeing college pals, many of whom are raising young families. Today I am grateful for my Old Guys, who fill my mornings with wisdom and humor and make me feel like a bona fide genius because I can help them download ringtones and update their iPhones. 2. Devices. I love gadgets like my iPhone, my Keurig, and my Dyson, which make tasks of daily living easier, if not enjoyable. 3. I love a good lipstick and the restorative power of it. I ordered a three-set of my very favorite brand (Lipstick Queen), not even thinking that my $50 investment might melt in the mailbox before I could retrieve it. It came today (what is it, 114 outside?) and the tubes were hot to the touch. So I popped the package in the freezer for a few hours and voila--a trio of perfectly formed lipsticks to make me feel instantly world-ready. I tag Alissa Edwards and Lyndsay Johnson, two of my most positive former co-workers. You both are such smart and talented women with such beautiful families! I miss you both!
