Day 61, News: Stay winning Once again housemates were asked to make a personal plea to Africa for their votes come Sunday’s grand finale. Biggie however, reassured them that they were already winners for making so far in the game. He also reminded them that they were still part of his game and so anything could happen. While the top eight expressed how they were beyond honoured to be part of this momentous experience they narrated the stories that led them up to this point. What stuck the most for Tanzanian funny man – and ladies man – Idris was the creation of the band of bandits The Three Suckers. Being a part of the crew so late in the game was something of a saving grace for him as the boys club enabled He, Nhlanhla and JJ to have fun without strings attached. In his plea he thanked Africa and Biggie for making him who he is. Sipe wore bright lips to go with her neck piece an told Biggie that, on her last Friday, inside the house she was blowing kisses to everyone and Africa. While she was proud of how far she’d come, having conquered old feelings of inadequacy, she confessed she was also worried that Africa might judge her harshly on a couple of her misdemeanours. She counted the row with evicted housemate Frankie alongside her various moments of inebriation. Begging for votes was something Macky2 didn’t do. Well at least that’s how he chose to see things. He wanted more for his work and successes to tell an inspiring story. He shared his upbringing having lost both his parents by the tender age of fifteen wanting not to for people to pity him but rather for them to be motivated to win in the face hardships, like he has. For Butterphly being a housemate was a testament and tribute to the dreamer in her; the dreamer, she said, that had become fenced by circumstance. She always enjoyed her diary sessions with Biggue and this was a lifetime experience for the Zimbabwean radio presenter. She, like M’am Bea, Sipe and Nhlanhla, hoped it would be a spring board for her career. After the winner was announced however, her one desire was to take a long bath in private away from the prying cameras. M’am Bea also felt a great achievement at being a Hotshots housemate. She planned to use her platform after the show to uplift the youth and grow her fashion brand “Latrice”. Looking as radiant as ever with her purple lips she appealed to Africa to vote for her because not only has she upheld her Ghanaian values she has also been a good representative for Africa woman and the youth. Drummer boy Tayo continued to keep his distance from the drama this week. He found a loyal friend in a neat glass of Jameson whiskey. In his plea he was frank about the fact that should he not win on Sunday he would be hurt so Africa should vote for him to win because he had been the “best original version of himself” in his own words. Nhanhla expected anything from now and until Sunday. His was a philosophical diary session as he explained how he’d grown in the game. Being pushed to unlearn some old ideas in order to learn and grow in a way that was outside of his own. This was a rewarding experience. He believed himself a “content maker” and hoped Africa would see that as they cast their final votes. JJ ended these diary sessions off with a bang and passionate, heartfelt plea. But not before he thanked all the people and situations that shaped his growth. Alusa, Samantha and Permithias were amongst the evicted housemates to which felt indebted; Alusa for being a mentor, Samantha for teaching him lesion about himself and Permithias for being a brother figure and someone with whom he shared talents. He also paid homage to his high school and finally his country Zimbabwe. He then launched into a prayer-like plea win which he celebrated all the underdogs in the world and asked for Africa to do the right thing; vote for unity by voting for him. They were all looking forward to their last Friday night suarez and letting loose for the last time as Tayo and Macky2 put it. They each would party like rock stars as they would with their posses around. Cheers to the last weekend inside the house! Vote for your favourite housemate to win: Butterphly, Idris, JJ, M’am Bea, Macky2 , Nhlanhla, Sipe, Tayo.
