Day 9-Big Sky (via Grand Teton & Jackson Hole) to Rock City, - TopicsExpress

Day 9-Big Sky (via Grand Teton & Jackson Hole) to Rock City, Wyoming (350 miles) Left the ranch today to explore the Tetons and start the trek back home. On the way, we got to go through the geyser basins of Yellowstone and get trapped in a Bison backup again (they really pay no attention to cars). We had a few quick stops at Kessler cascades and the Continental Divide in Yellowstone before entering Grand Teton National Park. The scenery here changes as the Tetons seem to rise out of the plains. Caught a bear talk, took in some scenic vistas around Jenny Lake and earned our ranger badge (finally a friendly ranger)! The coolest experience was spotting a coyote just off the road hunting and then pouncing on his prey! Afterwards, we headed into Jackson Hole for shopping and early dinner. Steered clear of the overprice t-shirts and instead got an overpriced pandora bead. Made by local artists, I decided on the bison as they were seen everywhere out here. The kids had gotten their souvenir earlier (got lucky-$5 stuffed animals). Noah claims you are never too old for stuffed animals-bison for Nate (Verizon-have no idea why), bear for Noah (Faithful) and Wolf for Abby (Big Sky). No major damage yet from Ben and the pocket knife! 3 more hours down the road we stopped just before getting to I-80 in Rock Springs. Had an hour to swim before hunkering down for our "slumber party"!
