Day of contentment Philippians 4:11, 12 ESV -Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. Proverbs 3:25, 26 ESV -Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin of the wicked, when it comes, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught. Daniel 3:27 ESV -And the satraps, the prefects, the governors, and the king’s counselors gathered together and saw that the fire had not had any power over the bodies of those men. The hair of their heads was not singed, their cloaks were not harmed, and no smell of fire had come upon them. This is only a test! So often, we hear these words during the late night hours via our televisions. Please understand these great words can also be applied to our lives as well. These scriptures remind us to remain content. Each and everyday as we go through the journey of life, God is testing us to see if we are ready for a promotion. As a result, we are often confronted by trials and tribulations where God is testing us to see how we will respond. Remember, this is only a test! Proverbs 3:25-26 reminds us not to be afraid but to be confident in the Lord. Praise at all times He has already promised to see us through. Will you stay consistent and content when adversities come knocking at your door? Or will everyone around you know you are going through an unfortunate event? God wants you to rejoice when you are being blessed and also when you are facing a trial. God will make a way He promises when you go through the fires of life you will be unharmed. Just as He has helped Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, God wants the same for you. Do you believe today He is making a way for you and destroying your mountains? The Lord states, I myself will prepare your way, leveling mountains and hills. I will break down bronze gates and smash their iron bars. We have to stay in a place trusting and believing through prayer things will work out. Do not keep your eyes on your issues, but on God. In doing so, He promises you will not fall. Reflection: Begin today declaring whatever comes your way, whether good or bad, you will continue to rejoice knowing He is already fighting for you. What things are you rejoicing for today?
