Day off yesterday, so we went grocery shopping and did our laundry. Martin took Adams classical guitar down from the wall and gave a beautiful rendition of a Johnny Cash song when he thought I wasnt listening. I was listening, and extracted promises from him both to bring a guitar to my next Blue Anchor Inn session (which as luck would have it is a week from Thursday, two days after we get back from the USA) and to try contributing some vocals to the album as Im still looking for a male voice to sing the third part of Jackdaws Rising, the three-part round Ive written over Pete Coleman (facebook/pages/Pete-Peewee-Coleman-Composer-for-FilmTV-and-Media/167062236714970 -- for some reason I dont seem to be able to tag his page directly) and Clare Hines tune 13 Moons). We spent a few minutes going through the part, during which I learned that for some time now Martins been mishearing Muster, for the dark is falling as Master of the Darkness calling. Death metal lyricist, moi? Today its the Super Bowl over here, and Adams already been out to the local deli to get the requisite Italian sandwich rolls variously known as subs and hoagies, which I gather are de rigueur on these occasions. I can hardly wait.
