#Day31 Flax Bourton to Highbridge #Blog A good night’s sleep in the gym car park but still feeling tired today. Thank you so much to Elaine for hosting Rachel and Mike, lucky Mike even got a cooked breakfast! We headed back to Flax Bourton for me to begin my run, I’d not been going long when the shack pulled up near me to say that Alan and the camper van had broken down! Mike and Rachel went off on a mission to find a gas stove so we could continue with the day and still make tea and soup. After navigating some tricky country lanes they made it to Alan and the dog, Eric, picked up the supplies and headed towards the first break point. Considering the busy morning they had had, we were only 30 minutes behind schedule and it meant I could get some more miles in. Sadly Alan has had to go back to Bristol for the night and wait for the part for the camper van to be fixed, but will hopefully join us again tomorrow. We continued on till Star where we were met by my friend from Luton, John Chapham who had come to join me on the last part of the run. It’s always so encouraging to have the support, especially when they have travelled a long way. We were also met by my old friends Rodney and Janet who it was lovely to see. Janet particularly liked my milk top curtain in the shack! Tonight we stayed with Rachel and Andrew in Shipham, not far from Cheddar. Rachel is the sister in law to my friend who helped me build the shack, what a small world! Again we struggled with parking the shack but after a lot of pushing and skilled driving from Mike (plus some extra help from Rachel and Andrews friends) we managed to get the shack in a safe place on their street. We had such a wonderful evening with the whole family and their friends Fran and Pete. We were treated to an incredible meal and we really ate like kings! The children were delightful and so interested in the shack they even went round to the neighbours to tell them all about it. Such kindness that will not be forgotton
