Dear ALL! On Feb. 10, I will again be part of a group of skiers and snowboarders attempting to descend 100,000 vertical feet in a day to create awareness and raise funds for and awareness of Two Top Adaptive Sports Foundation (twotopadaptive.org), a nonprofit organization providing adaptive ski and snowboard lessons to injured service members and civilians with a wide range of disabilities. Im writing to ask for your help. 100K Team Website: https://ssl.dhweb/twotop/ Facebook: https://facebook/100K.Vertical.Challenge Twitter: https://twitter/100K_Vertical Founded in 2007 at Whitetail Resort in Mercersburg, Penn., Two Top provided 40 lessons to disabled athletes during its first year in operation. Last winter, the cadre of volunteers who operate the organization provided a record 370 lessons. Two-thirds of those lessons went to veterans receiving treatment at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., located roughly an hour and a half away from Whitetail. The organizers of this nonprofit expect demand to continue to skyrocket over the next few years. In order to continue offering free lessons, meals and lodging to these brave athletes—who never pay a dime for their lessons with Two Top—we need your help. Your tax-deductible donation could help fund the following: · A one-day lift ticket for a disabled athlete ($112) · A lesson and lodging package for a disabled athlete, including lift tickets, a hotel room and meals ($320) Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the event, or about this wonderful organization. Thank you for your time and consideration. BACKGROUND: In February 2012, a couple dozen skiers and snowboarders set out to accomplish an incredible — some may say absurd — goal: to descend 100,000 vertical feet in one day, or 107 runs at Whitetail Resort in Mercersburg, PA. Fueled by Gatorade, pizza and hot dogs, they did just that. There was a mission behind their madness: Their 12-plus hour adventure raised more than $12,000 for Two Top. In 2013, another group of over 30 skiers and snowboarder took to the slopes to try to double that amount. They succeeded, and the $25,000 they raised enabled Two Top to provide a record 370 lessons last winter. Roughly 260 of those lessons went to wounded veterans and their families, who never pay a dime for their lessons with Two Top. I am part of a small group that is setting out to accomplish the most audacious goal yet: to raise $50,000 for Two Top via the Third Annual 100K Vertical Challenge on Feb. 10, 2014. To do that, we will need your help. If you’re in a position to give, please consider donating to this incredible organization, knowing that your contributions will help Two Top meet its goal of providing its programs for free to all participants. I truly appreciate any assistance you can offer. For more information about the 100K Vertical Challenge, please visit the events website [LINK: https://ssl.dhweb/twotop], (where you can donate to our fundraising effort). I would also suggest that you watch this YouTube video m.youtube/watch?v=S53Qr-EimEc Todd Love, a Marine who lost both his legs in Afghanistan, taking a ski lesson with Two Top. I dare you to watch it and tell me what you feel. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the event, or about this wonderful organization. Thank you for your time and consideration, and for any support you can provide. A thousand thanks in advance!
