Dear Busia County comrades,greetings.The following is happening slowly away from the public eye.There is an attempt by the governor to pitch the Teso community above all other communities in Busia County through the public service jobs and award of contracts in the County.This situation puts us at high vulnerability towards tribal conflict because of our cosmopolitan nature like Bungoma,Migori,Nakuru and even Nairobi.Trouble is,the Its our time to eat spirit has crept in Busia County.Secondly,the checks from the senator,members of parliament ,MCAs ,civil society and the public are not forth coming.The supremacy battle between the governor and Hon Otuoma who has expressed ambitions to be the governor of Busia in 2017 played out clearly during the ODM aborted elections where there was rumor that the governor campaigned against Otuoma among the delegates so that he does not ascend to the chairmanship of ODM and tilt party influence in his favor against Ojaamong.As this power plays intensify,there are very genuine members of the executive that are trying to deliver for the people but getting frustrated by power bureaucracies.Good people,be on the look out.
