Dear Christians, be wary of Christianity that is based on the periphery (healing, provision, protection, miracles etc.) with the absence of the essence (a relationship with God). There is an evil strategy which involves keeping you off trouble, that is, you experience Gods blessings, but youve lost or you are loosing your relationship with God. You think you are still on track with God because everything seems to be going well, but in the true sense youre slipping away; getting less interested in the things of God, finding it difficult to spend quality time with God, shrugging over things you once took seriously...it is a strategy of the enemy to prevent Christians from being aware of a backsliding state. This is a strategy of distraction. We think everything is alright and that God is on our side because we are doing right, but on the contrary, the enemy seems to be keeping his hands off so we are unaware of the fact that we are derailing, and the right we think we are doing are motor activities (if you know what i mean). When there are no troubles and everything is fine we tend to relax, but when we are faced with challenges we want to check, first if our commitment to God still stands; if we observe anything wrong, we make amends immediately. This aids our relationship with God. This does not imply that Gods blessings arent to be enjoyed, rather that our stand with God should be assessed based on how active our relationship with God is, not on how much of His blessings we enjoy. So we are to examine ourselves (thoughts, actions, reactions, motives, conversation, etc.) ALWAYS, using Gods word. And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:36 “Watch therefore, for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Matthew 24:42. “Watch therefore, for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Mark 14:38. And He said unto me, “My grace is sufficient for thee, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore will I glory rather in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9. Notwithstanding, in this rejoice not that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice because your names are written in Heaven.” Luke 10:20
