Dear DCM members Recently there has been a lot of talk about DCM or its committee has failed in taking care of members welfare. This I have been told stems from the problems faced by Multistrada owners. Sadly these talk was never addressed to me or the committee directly but instead was left to become viral in Whatsapp goup chats. I am not one who want to answer every rumours or fleeting accusations from keyboard warriors as I, like all of you, would rather spend my time outside of the club with work and family. But when the persistent defamation is being done on a daily basis and the un informed members repeating it, I have no choice but to bring it up in this open forum, for the good of the club. Without going into the details of the problems faced by Multistrada owners, which is best handled by Ducati via Ducati Malaysia, I would like to explain how DCM reacted and helped in this matter. I received an email which was addressed to Mr Juan Chow Wee GM of Ducati Malaysia from a Ducati Multistrada owner on the 2nd of April explaining the problems owners were facing. I contacted Mr Juan immediately and we agreed the best way is to call for a forum between owners and Ducati Malaysia and Ducati APEC. The Forum was set to be held on April 8th just 6 days after receiving the first email. Mr Juan roped in Mr Eugene to represent Ducati APEC together with Mr Jeffrey Khaw and En Wan Roslan of Ducati Serivce. I was allowed to moderate the Forum. The Forum was free flowing and members who attended was allowed to tell all and ask all. At the end of the Forum it was agreed that Ducati Malaysia will conduct a program specially for Multistrada owners and each owners will be attended personally by Ducati team headed by Mr Jeffrey Khaw. There were other concessions we got from Ducati Malaysia which I cannot put it down in this post but it benefited the owners tremendously. As this is an on going process, emails is continually sent by Mr. Khaw to update relevant parties on its progress. As recent as on Monday 23rd June at 8.38am I received a Whatsapp message from a Multistrada owner reporting that his bike has a recurring problem and wish me to help. I immediately forwarded to Mr Juan his messages and accompanying pictures and even went to Ducati Malaysia to meet En Wan Roslan to get update on the situation of the said bike. I am not looking for any gratification by posting the above as what the committee did was for the welfare of the members and we are all bikers and we know how it feels when our bike is ill. What im trying to achieve is to put a stop of this FITNAH (for a lack of more apt word in english) by saying DCM never did anything to help Multistrada owners. What saddened me more is the truth was not spread to members and the wrong message has become viral. And now it has to come to this that I have to explain what we have done in a public forum like FB and I hope this will never happened again as I have high respect to all of members out there. DCM is for the club members and we will be there for you during good and bad times but we can only do so much and you need to realise technical problems rest with the manufacturer. Thank you
