Dear Dog Lovers, my heart aches for the poor girl who lost her dog in the car wreck on I20 last night. This hits close to home for me as I too was rear-ended on the interstate this past summer with my beloved Tessie sitting on the seat next to me. Tessie was launched into dash, and I thank the Lord she wasnt ejected or thrown through the windshield, I could never live with losing her that way. I in no way want to take a away from her heartache, I just to prevent other folks from losing their dogs in a car wreck. Please, please keep your dogs restrained in a vehicle. Its what is safest for them. You wear a seatbelt for the same reason they should. Babies and small children ride restrained in protective seats. Why shouldnt your four legged children? Tessie now wears a harness clipped to the seatbelt assembly on the passenger side, and my other two Jack Russell terriers ride in crates that are strapped down to the back seat of my truck. Petsmart and other pet suppliers sell car restraints for pets. Please protect them like you would your human passengers.
